• Welcome

Welcome to HEAL PA, a multisectoral and multidisciplinary coalition developed and sponsored by the Pennsylvania Governor's Office of Advocacy and Reform (OAR). The coalition consists of volunteers from a wide variety of fields, geographies, ethnicities and life experiences, including several former 2019 OAR Trauma Think-Tank members and multiple trauma survivors. The coalition has been organized into a variety of diverse action teams focused on implementing the Trauma-Informed PA plan.

Branded as HEAL PA, this mix of state agency representatives and community stakeholders from all across the Commonwealth is responsible for prioritizing the recommendations, setting short and long term goals, and assigning accountabilities to make the plan recommendations a reality. Action teams are expected to push the envelope to ensure PA not only keeps up with the latest science and trends in trauma and ACEs, but sets the bar for planning, innovation, and action. Learn more about how you can become involved as a community champion through our partners, the United Way of Pennsylvania-Resilient PA here.

  • Exciting HEAL PA News!

April is child abuse prevention month and HEAL Pa is excited to announce that it has been selected as the provisional chapter for PCA. As a Pennsylvania chapter, we will work closely with Prevent Child Abuse America to bring awareness to the issue of child abuse, educate the public on how to prevent it, and provide support and resources to those affected by it.

    Child Abuse Prevention Month

We are excited to announce our upcoming plans to pay tribute to National Child Abuse Prevention Month on April 3rd. As part of our efforts, we will be calling on our legislators to confirm the establishment of an Office of the Child Advocate and codify HEAL PA in the proposed legislation.

The confirmation of the Office of the Child Advocate is a significant step towards Pennsylvania's commitment to recognizing the value of every child, promoting evidence-based policies and practices, improving child welfare, and amplifying the voices of those with lived experience.

We welcome you to join us in planning this important press conference or to learn more about the event on April 3rd. For additional information or to get involved, please email us at info@healpa.org.
